Dear Asbury Family,

 

Thank you to all who have served the Lord throughout this past year. We praise God for your service and are excited to see where God will lead this year. To those of you who have never served, our prayer is that you will find your place to serve the Lord.

 

Did you know that God created specific works for us? Paul writes, “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10) We are created to do good works that God prepared just for us!

 

Did you know our service here on earth defines the rewards God will award? “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.” (Ephesians 6:7-8) Serving others builds our treasures in heaven.

 

Did you know that our faith is dead without service? “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” (James 2:26) We are to live out our faith by serving others.

 

Asbury offers many different opportunities for you to serve in the following areas:

 

Please take the time to read through the Ministry & Me Descriptions and the Ministry & Me Commitment Form. Compare, reflect and pray about what the Lord is calling you to do as His servant at Asbury from July 2011–June 2012.

 

You will find that making a commitment to service this year is very simple. You can complete the Ministry & Me Commitment Form that will be available in the bulletin on Sunday, May 22. You will find Ministry & Me Commitment Forms in the Gathering Area. You also have the ability to view the ministry descriptions and make a commitment here.
